Information for Performers at the New Zealand Harp Festival 2004
This section presents information for performers at concerts and masterclasses. When the selection process is complete, details of those selected will appear on this page.
Masterclasses
Masterclass places were available to those who are currently students of the harp (both young and adult). The audition tapes have been assessed, and places have been offered to talented students at a variety of levels. Students who have been chosen to perform at one of Elinor Bennett's masterclasses will be charged an extra fee of $20, on the grounds that they will receive a great deal of benefit from their lesson with one of the world's great harpists.
Performers at masterclasses are expected to be able to play the work they offer fluently and at a good standard. They should have reached the stage where they are entirely sure of the notes, and be ready to accept advice on improving the piece to performance level.
The work to be performed at the masterclass does not have to be the work that was submitted on the audition tape.
The following harpists are expected to fill the masterclass places:

Gala Concert
The performers at the Gala Concert will be those who can be relied upon to produce polished performances at the most advanced level, since the public will be paying to come and hear them. Only the first half of the concert is available to local harpists, as Elinor Bennett will provide the second half of the programme.
The audition tapes have been assessed by members of the Festival Committee, along with applications for places from those who were not required to audition. The process of allocating places and drawing up an interesting programme is in progress.
The Committee reserves the right to invite harpists who meet the requirements above to perform.
While the programme for the Gala Concert is still being developed, the following performers are expected to appear:
